Cynthia + Anthony // Mercury Hall Austin Wedding
I met Cynthia through Boss Babes ATX almost 2 years ago, back when she was working for the National Hispanic Institute and I was just thinking about putting together the LatinxVoices project.
At one of the smaller BossBabes ATX meet-ups, I asked her for advice about possible pitfalls and anything to think about before starting the project. She thought it was amazing and encouraged me to just do it, and even ended up helping me find the perfect spot to host the project.
She’s been a good friend for awhile now, so I was really excited to photograph her wedding this past July.
Cynthia and Anthony met in high school and reconnected in college. Their families all know each other and have for awhile, so the wedding was sort of a big reunion.
Their wedding was a sweet Catholic ceremony at the chapel at St. Edwards University in Austin where they both went to school and where she now works. The reception was at Mercury Hall, a really popular downtown Austin wedding venue just a few minutes away. I love it because it still has the forest-y feel you can get in Dripping Springs, but it’s actually just south of downtown.
Cynthia and Anthony are from El Paso, so they both really wanted to share what Austin is with their out-of-town families. They wanted to make sure everyone had a truly Austin experience since they were coming from far away.
So of course, they had to get local Austin burger restaurant P.Terry’s to cater with their little food truck of burgers and fries!
At the end of the night they had a pedicab take them away. Their wedding was the first time I’ve ever seen that and it was super cute.
