To me, a feminist wedding is essentially doing exactly what you want at your wedding and not something that’s been pushed on you. With that being said, click for some suggestions for ideas you might want to consider when planning your feminist wedding.Read More
I love working directly with business owners and figuring out how we can accomplish the images they need, especially badass female creatives like Austin-based jewelry designer and maker Rebekah of Rebekah Vinyard Jewelry.
I LOVE her jewelry because you can tell there's so much thought and care put into each and every design. Every time I wear any of her pieces, I get compliments and then questions about where I got the piece.
If you're getting photos taken for your business, the most important thing I can tell you is this: make sure your photographer knows where they're ending up so they can provide the correct format for you!
If you're using the photos for specific collateral or a design you have in mind, share that with your photographer. If you want photos specifically for Pinterest, Instagram, or a website banner, let them know.
Rebekah put together a Pinterest board of what she wanted ahead of time, which was amazing. She showed me the board and we talked about how the photos would be used and the feeling the photos should have. After securing a model, figuring out locations, and making a schedule, we went to work.
I think what I love most about working with small business owners is our ability to make the most of what's available. It gives both me and the owner the opportunity to get creative and make sure we're using all our resources.

Turns out it is super difficult to choose the best of the year from your own work. These photos are a mix of what y'all loved most on Instagram, the photos that made me smile the most, the ones that have the most joy and just a few of the photos that make me feel like the superstar photographer I want to be. Yes, there are two grandmas in this post and no I will not apologize for that :). Scroll all the way down for the two photos of kids being crazy awesome that makes me lol every single time I see them. Also this year I learned that I love a bride spinning in her dress because it looks awesome every single time.
I should also mention that I have 3 more weddings that aren't included because they just happened or are about to happen. Shoutout to all the amazing second photographers and clients this year that made photographing these weddings more fun. Looking through all these photos makes me feel like I've come a long way and improvement and consistency are part of that growth. In 2018, I'd want to introduce even more creativity, weirdness, and joy.

Becky and Ben are both hilarious and constantly telling jokes. We immediately bonded over our mutual love for Radio Coffee and Beer and I've been looking forward to their Cape Cod wedding ever since they booked me.
Their wedding photos will be coming next week, but today I'm sharing the photos from the day-after shoot we did at Ben's family's almost 100-year-old cabin in Cape Cod. All the leaves were changing, the water was beautiful, and the weather was perfect.
Day-after shoots are the best because you are no longer feeling wedding stress and you have time to just relax. Scroll down to look through photos of this happy couple post-wedding, and get ready to book a trip to Cape Cod because you'll definitely want to after this.
Austin, Cape Cod, and everywhere in between-- I love traveling for weddings, engagements, and random fun! I'll be in the northeast again in May and October of 2018, so let's book a session.
