Jessica + JD // Villa Antonia Wedding
Jessica and JD had their beautiful Villa Antonia spring wedding back in April. I chatted on the phone with them a several months before before their wedding and on the day of their wedding they felt like old friends. I love that they are 100% in each other's corner and how much support they have from their community. I'm so excited to finally share the photos from the beautiful wedding they planned.
One last thing! Jessica is extremely talented! Go check out her work here.
Here’s what Jessica and JD shared with me about how they met:
“It was February, frigid, and JD was face to face with what a Midwest winter felt like. He's from Texas, visiting for school, so this was cold! Through friends, he happened to stop by Jessica's 21st birthday party. They briefly introduced each other and went their separate ways.
Exactly one year later they crossed paths again! It was February, not that frigid, and actually very sunny, as Texas winters are kinder than Midwest ones. This time, Jessica met JD as HIS house party. She was visiting for school. So, also through friends, she stopped by JD's house for a party. They met once again and went their separate ways.
By August of 2013, Jessica packed up her things and boxes and headed south for graduate school, Austin, surprisingly! One of the first people she contacted was JD, as he was one of the first people she met in Texas. As she embarked on her first year of graduate school in Texas, she leaned on him and his friend group to welcome her to a new city, a new culture, and a new network. They studied, visited rivers, ventured to concerts and celebrated on weekends.
After building a friendship, JD left for Brazil to teach English. What a coincidence, she thought, Jessica was going to start her research there that next summer. He offered to help her with her project, but to be real, really though? By June 2014, Jessica boarded a plane and headed to Rio amid the World Cup held in Brazil. And just as he promised Jessica, he showed up to Rio the following week. From there, there was no leaving each other's side. They produced her documentary graduate project, ate new foods, danced under bridges, spent all day on beaches, stayed up all night talking, took care of each other, and created something beautiful. They fell in love. And ever since then, they've continued to travel, explore and always, always be by each others' side.”
See what I mean? These two give me heart eyes. Keep scrolling to look through the photos, and check out the other incredible vendors below:
