Katie + Adam // Austin Wedding
Katie and Adam live in Dallas and had their modern wedding in Austin. She is a teacher and he is a musician, and they bonded over their love of music and Russian literature.
They got in touch with me a while back, back when they were still setting a date for their wedding and finding the right venue. I know Katie searched high and low for the right vendors, so I felt pretty special when she and her partner chose me as their photographer.
On their wedding day, I joined Katie and her wedding party at N Salon, her Airbnb, and then finally at Peached Social House, near downtown Austin. The wedding was of course catered by The Peached Tortilla aka everyone’s favorite Austin caterer. What can I say? They kill it every single time.
I should also mention Lora, the coordinator at the Peached Social House. She goes above and beyond the call of duty, all while being the most fashionable person in the room. She’s a dream.
Peached Social House has this cool loft area where you can get ready or just as a spot to step away from the crowd. It’s modern and has a touch of that industrial feeling with a whole wall of natural wood that’s illuminated by a well-placed skylight and lights that crawl up the wall in the best way. It’s a great choice for any couple who is leaning towards a more modern look in Austin, Texas.
Katie and Adam are also super stylish. Katie’s dress was inspired by Lana Del Rey and Adam’s suit was the perfect shade of blue, and they made this gorgeous moon and star installation that served as the background for the ceremony.
Special moments of the night included a traditional Russian bread ceremony, a ring warming by every guest at the wedding, all of the speeches during and after the ceremony, Katie and Adam exiting in their yellow bug, and the dancing of course.
