Rachel + Blaire // Ranch Austin Wedding
Rachel and Blaire were referred to me by Andrew, whose wedding I shot at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and Fresa's a while back. I'm so glad Andrew referred them-- I guess great people just know other great people because Rachel and Blaire are both incredibly kind, welcoming, and so funny. They're always laughing and joking and were just so much fun to hang out with.
Their early November wedding at Ranch Austin was right at sunset and was full of friends and family. Ranch Austin is a beautiful venue in the southwest part of Austin near Dripping Springs that has everything you need right there. There's an outdoor bar, tons of beautiful string lights in the trees, and it's surrounded by a forest and a fenced-in ranch with actual longhorns just hanging out. If you live in Texas, you know that isn't uncommon, but I still always feel like having these giant animals around is pretty awesome.
Not only was the venue great, but the weather was perfect and everything was still lush and green even in November. It felt super relaxed and not rushed because Rachel and Blaire planned out all the details so well ahead of time. Plus, their wedding planner Solrun, who specializes in working with same-sex couples, was awesome.
We had plenty of time for all the photos they wanted, so we took photos in front of this great silo (check it out below) and a photo of Rachel and Blaire posing with their parents under photos of their parents on their wedding days, which I loved.
They did all the fun wedding things: first dances, two father-daughter dances, a sparkler exit, speeches by the men of honor and both of the maids of honor, and jello shots with the wedding party right after the ceremony.
They had a ring bearer and a flower boy, and Blaire was seriously stylish in not one but two outfits-- a jumpsuit and a white suit with black lapels. The wedding parties got in on the outfit fun, too-- Rachel's wedding party had monogrammed robes and Blaire's had monogrammed button-up shirts.
They're both just the life of the party and they're really great together. I love taking photos of people who are super in love, and they definitely are!
